Phase 1
Kit Finder Quiz
Everything starts with one question: what do you want to apply for?
CitizenKit's Kit Finder Quiz asks about your goals and situation, then matches you to the kit that fits — so you start with the right forms and the right process from the very beginning. It's free, takes about three minutes, and requires no account.
The quiz asks about
- What immigration step you want to take (Green Card, citizenship, family petition, renewal)
- Your relationship to the person you are applying for or through
- Where you and your family members currently are — in the U.S. or abroad
- Basic details about the type of card or status currently held
- Whether your situation involves factors that may be outside the scope of our available kits
Phase 2
Guided Questionnaire
Your application, in plain English.
Once you have selected your kit, CitizenKit walks you through the application section by section — in plain, conversational English. Every question is explained. Every term is defined. Nothing is left to interpretation.
Sections covered
- Petitioner and beneficiary information
- Relationship and basis for filing
- Immigration and travel history
- Background and admissibility questions
- Supporting information for your personalized document checklist
Phase 3
Kit Generation
Your complete application, generated from your answers.
When your questionnaire is complete, CitizenKit generates your full application kit — populated from your answers, organized for USCIS, and ready for your review before the specialist gets their eyes on it.
What is generated
- Completed USCIS forms, pre-filled from your questionnaire answers
- Personalized document checklist tailored to your specific case type
- Step-by-step filing instructions
- USCIS-preferred packet assembly order
Phase 4
Specialist Review
A real person checks your work.
Before you receive your finalized packet, a Case Support Specialist reviews your completed kit against your specific case type parameters — verifying that nothing is missing, every field is answered, and your packet is ready to file exactly as designed.
What the specialist checks
- Cross-checks every required document against your case type
- Verifies form completeness and accuracy
- Confirms packet assembly is in USCIS-preferred order
- Available to answer questions about how to use your kit
Phase 5
Assemble & Submit
Mail with confidence.
Your packet is assembled in USCIS-preferred order, ready to print and send. Your filing instructions explain exactly what to expect after you mail — from the receipt notice through biometrics, interview, and approval.
What you receive
- Documents organized in USCIS filing order with a cover sheet
- Correct USCIS mailing address for your case and state
- Sign-here guide so every required signature is in place
- What to expect after filing — receipt notice, biometrics, and next steps
After You File
What to expect after your packet is in the mail.
Receipt Notice
USCIS issues a receipt notice (Form I-797C) confirming they received your application. This notice often extends the validity of your current card or status while the case is pending.
Biometrics & Interview
Depending on your case type, USCIS may schedule a biometrics appointment and/or an in-person interview at a local field office. Your kit includes guidance on what to expect at each.
Decision & Approval
Once USCIS approves your case, they mail your approval notice and, where applicable, your new card. Current processing times vary by case type and are tracked at uscis.gov.
